Pam grew up in a farming community in eastern Saskatchewan close to Yorkton. After graduating from High School, she moved to Regina to attend the University of Regina and study Journalism. She also completed an office administration diploma with a specialty in technology. After completing her schooling, she secured a position with a brokerage in Regina.
Pam obtained her insurance license and started working with the public in a personal lines position. Not long after starting in insurance, she moved into a Commercial servicing and sales position which helped to grow and expand her book of business. While employed in Saskatchewan Pam completed the four levels for her Professional CAIB Designation, graduating with honors in 2001. Shortly after completing her CAIB, and opportunity presented itself in Cold Lake, AB for a Commercial Account Executive position with Doherty Insurance. After relocating to Cold Lake, Pam remained with Doherty Insurance until the brokerage sold in 2012. Pam remained with the company after the sale of the brokerage, and within a year was promoted to the Operations Manager for the three offices of Bridge Financial Insurance. The offices were in Cold Lake, Bonnyville and Edmonton.
In 2019, Bridge Financial was sold to a corporately owned brokerage, at which time Pam discovered that her vision and values did not align with an insurance company owned brokerage. In the summer of 2019, Pam opened Lake City Insurance, a local, independently owned brokerage and one that was partnered with Excel Insurance Group Lloydminster Ltd and the Excel Insurance Group.
In 2024, Pam bought out her partners in Excel Insurance Group Lloydminster Ltd making her the sole owner of the brokerage and amended the name to Lake City Insurance (2023) Ltd. In the summer of 2025, the decision was made to leave the Excel Insurance Group and become a completely independent brokerage.
Pam spends her days working to grow and improve her business. She works at learning new skills and doing continuous training within insurance. She is currently working on her CIP Designation. When not working, Pam enjoys spending time with her husband, Darcey and their 2 children. She is an avid golfer and can often be found on one of the local courses. She loves spending time outdoors doing yard work, working in her flower beds and gardening. Another of Pam’s hobbies is interior decorating, and she offers advice to friends and family on their design projects. When golfing season is done, Pam enjoys spending time at home reading a good book or spending time with friends.
